《我的军号》取材于真实历史事件，以福建宁化县泉上镇老红军罗广茂在土地革命战争年代用生命保存下来目前最为完整的《军用号谱》为线索展开故事，讲述了红军战士刘广顺在宁化参加红军，成为一名司号员，在残酷的斗争中经历种种磨炼，始终保持着对革命、对司号员职责的忠诚，视军号、军号谱为生命，并通过两代人的努力，把军号谱和一个号嘴保存下来的过程，真实再现了宁化人民光辉悲壮的革命历史。
